About the Event
Housing instability impacts millions of K–12 students nationwide, creating significant barriers to attendance, academic success, and overall well-being. Under the federal McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, school districts are legally required to identify, enroll, and support students experiencing homelessness.
While district liaisons coordinate services, frontline school personnel are often the first to recognize when a student is in crisis.
This interactive webinar demystifies the McKinney-Vento Act for all school staff. Participants will gain a clear understanding of federal provisions, learn practical identification strategies tailored to their specific roles, and discover trauma-informed ways to connect vulnerable students with essential protections.
