About the Event
Homelessness creates significant educational barriers for children and youth. Students experiencing temporary housing lack basic resources that impact their ability to attend and succeed in school. The McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act provides the necessary benefits and supports to overcome educational barriers. This webinar will support McKinney-Vento Liaisons in the identification of students experiencing homelessness and in the determination of eligibility for services.
By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Identify possible risk factors/causes of homelessness.
- Gain knowledge of strategies for identification of students experiencing temporary homelessness.
- Determine eligibility benefits based on the provisions of the McKinney-Vento Act.
- Receive resources to support the identification and eligibility of students experiencing homelessness.
