Students who transfer schools often do worse in school than those who don't transfer. The McKinney-Vento Act can help solve this problem by allowing students to stay in the same school and get free transportation.

McKinney-Vento Training Details

NYS-TEACHS offers FREE webinars on the educational rights of students experiencing homelessness. These trainings are geared toward school district personnel and service providers serving students in temporary housing.

Please note: In an effort to expand participation and customize webinars by region, webinars offered during the same week will be divided into two groups: New York City (NYC) and New York State (NYS, outside NYC). While much of the content of the webinars will be the same, some of the regulations and topics will be area-specific.
