Students who transfer schools often do worse in school than those who don't transfer. The McKinney-Vento Act can help solve this problem by allowing students to stay in the same school and get free transportation.

The State Education Department's Program Manager for Homeless Education developed the Title I and Homeless Education PowerPoint as a resource for schools and school districts about the requirements of districts to set aside Title I funds to serve students who are homeless, and appropriate uses for these funds.
